Google AdWords Monthly & Yearly Search Counts

Wednesday, 9th July 2008

Google Search homepage

Finally! Google has decided to reveal the monthly and yearly searches for every keyword phrase searched on Google.com. I hope there is an API for this so that all the keyword software makers can integrate this into their software as soon as possible.

According to Google AdWords Help Center:

The Approx Search Volume [Previous Month] column shows search volume statistics for the last calendar month. The Approx Avg Search Volume column shows average monthly search volume over a recent 12-month period.

Since Yahoo’s Overture keyword tool is officially dead, this tool is the next best thing at the moment. Google should have done this earlier.

AdSpy Pro On Ubuntu Server Preview

Thursday, 21st June 2007

I have not been able to update this blog as much as I want because I am busy updating my 5 other content sites and this site has not been a top priority for me lately. I should try to squeeze in more time for this once I can outsource more of the content creation work.

I am planning to write a guide on how to install Ubuntu Server on an old PC to run the popular AdSpy Pro script without paying a dime on web hosting fees. I spent some time during the weekends to figure out how to get the geeky Linux operating system to work on my 10 year old Pentium 3 500 Mhz, 384 MB SDRAM PC. It’s a 100% pure Linux shell based operating system with no graphical user interface. Very hardcore linux stuff that I have been trying to avoid for a long time.

I hope that AdSpy Pro will be able to run on my Ubuntu Server smoothly. I estimate I would require at least a VPS web host to run this script properly. Running AdSpy Pro on my own Ubuntu Server would be like getting a free dedicated web host. Too bad my internet connection runs at 3Mbps if not it could be really fast.

How Google AdWords Spying Scripts Work

I have been waiting for a long time to have something like adspypro since I joined a secret membershp site about 1 year ago. I remember the service I used was not as advanced as the ones we have today. Previously, we had to compile a list of competitors with Keywords Analyzer and a list of keywords to input into these Google AdWords spying scripts.

What the service used to do was it compared each keyword in your keyword list with the each competitor in your competitors list. For example the keywords “green apples” could be listed in a Google AdWords advertiser that uses the domain “GreenApples.com”. When the script searches for “green apples” and finds “GreenApples.com”, you have a match and this indicates “GreenApples.com” is using the keywords “green apples”.

Nowadays, we only need to enter a list of keywords and the list of advertisers will be recorded for us with the exact keywords they are using in your keyword list. You have to understand that these spying scripts will not reveal their keywords to you unless you have uncovered them in your keyword research! The scripts only help us do manual search engine queries to Google.com to see who are advertising with your list of keywords.

As more of these PPC spying scripts become available at lower prices, it would be crazy not to use one because any serious affiliate program marketer will be using tools like this to find profitable affiliate programs and keywords to exploit. Even if you do not plan to get into PPC marketing, you could potentially uncover a lot of great affiliate programs in your target niche.

Campaign Blasts Review

Tuesday, 25th April 2006

Campaign Blasts ReviewI haven’t posted about Google AdWords info-products for a long time. Here’s one of the latest ones I got my hands on. Matt Levenhagen shares his “Campaign Blast Method“. I find it quite similar to what Barry Stein was trying to tell us in my September 2004 blog entry about spending as little time and money as possible creating “test campaigns”.

Matt goes deeper than what Barry Stein mentioned. Even though I know this cheap and quick testing method since 2004, I still make silly mistakes by trying to stubbornly promoting an affiliate program after listening to some friends who told me they are making money with that particular affiliate program. I won’t repeat the same mistake again. If a campaign doesn’t sell, I will delete it as soon as possible and test other markets without any emotion attached at all.

If you would like to discover how you can run cheap and effective market tests with Google AdWords, read my full review of the Campaign Blasts ebook.

Keyword Elite Review

Monday, 24th April 2006

Keyword EliteI have finally completed my review of Keyword Elite after weeks of testing this new baby out. Brad Callen has updated Keyword Elite dozens of times since it was released and I am very pleased with his level of support for his software.

Check out my Keyword Elite review for more information about Keyword Elite.

Keyword Elite Second Impressions

Saturday, 1st April 2006

Keyword EliteI have been using Keyword Elite for over a week now and it has been a bittersweet story. I am very impressed with Brad Callen’s customer support and his commitment to making this software the best keyword research tool in the world. Keyword Elite has been updated several times since I purchased it so reviewing it has been difficult because of the bug fixes and new features added in.

I purchased version 34 and now Brad Callen has updated it to version 63. Keyword Elite has been useful for me in the following ways:

  1. Research the top 10 competitors of Google.com for a keyword phrase that does not have a lot of big time competitors so that I can target a less competitive keyword phrase for my web site. I used to have to do this manually by going to Google.com and copy down the PR rank of each top 10 result and note down if they used my target keyword phrase in the HTML. Now I can do all this in less than a minute.
  2. Create a huge list of keywords that my top competitors bid on. I do not find the huge chunk of keywords returned by Keyword Elite to be very useful because it is a such a pain to sort them out when you have 40000 + keyword phrases. I simply research who my top affiliate competitors are in my target market and spy on them to see which one of my 40000 + keyword phrases they are bidding on over a period of time.
  3. Create a larger list of related keywords for Google AdSense related web sites. Sometimes my other keyword tools only return me a small list of keywords because they all use Overture as their keyword source. With Keyword Elite I am able to expand that small list to a slightly bigger list.

Learning how to use Keyword Elite to make money can be a bit challenging. You have in your hands a very powerful tool with an instruction manual on how to use the tool but not how to make money with the tool.

This post is not a full review of Keyword Elite. I am testing version 63 and discovering new things about the software. Even though I feel Keyword Elite needs a lot of upgrading to make it work more intuitively, I still believe this is one of the best advancements in the keyword research software and you should get a copy as soon as possible before the retail prices goes up to $297 in the future.

Keyword Elite First Impressions

Friday, 24th March 2006

Keyword EliteTo be honest with you, I still cannot get Keyword Elite software to work properly. I have been running 3 different keyword research projects to build a huge keyword list but none of them could complete successfully.

I noticed there were 2 new Keyword Elite software updates today and I have upgraded to the latest version but I am still experiencing the same problems. I set the number of keywords to 5000 as the manual suggested and it just doesn’t complete it’s search.

Hopefully, my current keyword research project will complete its run. The software stalls at a certain point. Each project runs for hours! I can understand why because it pulls data from a lot of different sources other than Overture.com.

The Greatest Keyword Research Software In The World?

Wednesday, 22nd March 2006

Keyword EliteI wanted to see what all the Keyword Elite hype was all about. I went to the Keyword Elite pre-launch blog to check out the videos. Boy was I blown away by video number 5!

You see, there isn’t any software out there that can spy on your Google AdWords competitors to this level. You could program Keyword Elite to spy on your competitors daily or multiple times per day if you like. When I say spy, you can actually see which keywords they are bidding on and what ads they are using.

This is great news for anyone who uses Google AdWords to promote affiliate programs. We can now see which keywords our top competitors are consistently bidding on for a period of time so that we can literally “steal” his keywords and ad for our own benefit.

I am still reviewing the software so I can’t give you my full story on this software. From what I can see right now, it is way ahead of all the keyword research software I currently own. Mind you I own 3 keyword research software..

None of them comes close to what Keyword Elite can do for you. Stay tuned for my full review!

NameCheap.com Is Cool Too!

Tuesday, 28th February 2006

I just registered a new domain name at NameCheap.com. The domain prices at NameCheap.com is $8.88 but if you enter the NameCheap.com coupon code found at this forum topic, you will get a discounted price at only $7.99. That’s the same price as RegisterFly.com.

I’m a bit fed up with RegisterFly.com. They have not refunded me my error charges even after multiple support email requests over a period of 1 week. I had no choice but to issue a chargeback request from my credit card company!

I just realised NameCheap.com also has a free “privacy protection” service when you register a domain. They also have an “instant name server” feature that allows you to add a domain to your web host immediately after purchasing a new domain. Maybe all web domain registrars allow this today? I am not so sure. The last time I purchased a domain at GoDaddy.com and other places, I had to wait 1 or 2 days to get my web domain “attached” to my web host.

I purchase domain names to appear unique when I am promoting affiliate programs in Google AdWords as Google does not allow duplicate domains names in their ad listings. Furthermore, it’s a good way to hide my affiliate ID from my competitors.

I will be posting more posts about affiliate program marketing at this blog from now on. I will create a network of “niche blogs” to cover different niche areas of internet marketing. I believe this would make my blogs more targeted, organized, and easier to digest for my readers.

Get Cheap Domain Names At RegisterFly

Tuesday, 14th February 2006

I’ve been using RegisterFly for quite some time now. I like their cheap $6.99 - $7.99 .com and $1.79 - $1.99 .info domain prices with free privacy protection of my personal information.

But lately I have been experiencing some problems with their registration system. It seems like whenever a domain registration is unsuccessful, my credit card still gets charged. In fact, this month I had 5 error charges to my credit card for domain name purchases that screwed up.

It takes a lot of time to report this to the support staff to get this rectified. Sometimes their web site takes a long time to load and in some cases in doesn’t load at all. RegisterFly is now an ICANN accredited registrar and it is registering domains on its own credentials. I think that is why their system is pretty screwed up now. 5 error charges in February 2006 is something new.

I usually purchase .info domains to create landing pages / redirection pages for promoting affiliate programs with Google AdWords. I also have a bunch of .info domains for the building of Google AdSense web sites. The best thing about RegisterFly is that once I purchase my domain name, I can literally use it straight away. Other domain registrars I used in the past made me wait at least 1 - 2 days.

What that means is I could research a particular niche to promote an affiliate program or build a Google AdSense site, research keywords, purchase a domain name, and upload my files to the web host within the same day.
I will continue to use them until I find another domain registrar with the same prices and registration turnaround time as RegisterFly. I really hope they clean up this mess as soon as possible.

Frank Kern’s Way of Re-Enabling Your Google AdWords Keywords

Tuesday, 23rd August 2005

Frank Kern has found an interesting way of reviving some if not all of your disabled keywords  that have been disabled by Google in their recent "crackdown".

Check out Frank’s video below:

http://www.underachievertoolkit.com/google/

I just have to say this…. I feel the new quality keyword system by Google AdWords is BS! My keywords are disabled because they do not have "sufficient quality" but raising the bid prices will make it a "quality keyword" once again. Thanks for sugar coating your words Google. The bottom line is you want more money. I hope a lot of Google AdWords advertisers do not buy into this "extortion" and literally force Google to scrap this new money leeching feature of theirs.
