I am writing this short review of this old keyword research software as a series of keyword software reviews. Most of these keyword research software are crappy because they do not provide you with accurate statistics from Google or they do not give you all the data you want.
You need a Google AdWords account to retrieve Google.com’s statistics. You would assume that the information you get from the software would be similar to what you would get if you check it out at Google AdWords, right? Unfortunately, there is a bug with Keywords Analyzer 7.68, which is the latest version at the time of this post. This software has been around for quite a few years and it is disappointing that it still has bugs like this.
For this example, I did a search on the keyword “acuvue”, in quotes for Google’s phrase matching. Keywords Analyzer gave me 550000 searches and 791000 search results. This made the KEI extremely high. There is something seriously wrong here.
I did a check for the keyword at the Google AdWords keyword tool. What I found was the …

I just borrowed ProBlogger: Secrets for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income from the Singapore National Library, which is one of the few things that I proudly say my government did right. I only paid SGD $1.55 to reserve a copy of this book for collection at the library closest to my home.
It is a good investment for the money I put in to get this book. Although I prefer to read Problogger’s blog directly, this book serves as a very good introduction to blogging for profit today. This book was published in 2008 and it is very up to date. If you follow Darren Rowse’s blog regularly, he has even more up to date blogging tips for you to implement on your blog.
It took me less than an hour to complete this book because I skipped some parts of the book that I felt weren’t applicable for me. What I learnt from the book is that I need to find a niche, post quality content, post more frequently, link to more blogs, make more friends online with …

I just read the Problogger book on how to make a 6-figure income with blogging and wrote a review of the Problogger book. It’s a very interesting and up to date book on how to blog. It gave me a lot to think about and I would like to upgrade my blog with some of Problogger’s features. I should also start using social networking tools like Twitter too!

I have not caught on the social networking hype of registering on sites like Twitter. I did not want to waste my time on things like Twitter because I am not a person who likes to check out what’s the latest news about other people except for my favourite band, Oasis.
A few weeks ago, I decided to test the status feature of Facebook. I was feeling happy and relieved that this unpleasant house mate of mine was going to move out soon in early August so I added a countdown message that went something like “3 more days to go”. Some of my friends started sending me messages asking me what I was counting down to!
When my house mate moved out, I changed my status message to something like “So long sucker, hope you don’t steal other people’s shampoo and take other people’s stuff in the future!”. A female friend of mine then asked me what caused me to get so upset.
Now I am beginning to understand why sites like Twitter are so popular. Some people just love these one-liners and have to know more. I think I should start …

I was surprised how quickly WordPress 2.6 was released. I still have an unresolved bug about the WordPress 2.5 wp_list_pages function. Unfortunately, they did not fix this bug or maybe they don’t plan to.
Back to WordPress 2.6. I am kind of confused by all the features WordPress has to offer. This video from WordPress will show you some of the new features in WordPress 2.6.
Upgrading from WordPress 2.5.1 to WordPress 2.6 was a snap for my blog. If you have not started with WordPress 2.6, now is a great time to start.

Last year, I posted a list of my favourite WordPress plugins. Today, I use a slightly different lineup of WordPress plugins because I have found better plugins to replace some of the older plugins I used and the latest WordPress has made certain plugins obsolete.
The 2007 WordPress Plugin List

John Reese just launched his new blog syndication site called BlogRush. It works like a traffic exchange service. You display related blog posts of other blogs on your blog X times and your blog posts will get displayed on other people’s blogs X times too. There is a ratio of how many impressions you get in return for displaying the BlogRush widget. This depends on the number of people you refer to BlogRush. The basic level is 1:1 and you will get better ratios like 1:2 as you progress.
It is important to understand that impressions does not equals to traffic. An impression like most banner ad systems, is simply the instance an ad is displayed in front of a person. Whether the person feels compelled to click through to your web site depends on a lot of other factors.
I am testing BlogRush right now and I hope it makes a substantial difference in my blog traffic.

I know I should have “claimed by blog” on Technorati but I could not be bothered until today. Let’s see what happens….
Now that I have claimed my blog, I get my very own page on Technorati. I wonder what difference does this make.

PayPerPost is a blogging advertising network. They pay you to write about advertisers who list their products or services in their directory. I am not 100% sure about the blog requirements but here’s what I know at the moment:
You can make money with PayPerPost in the following ways:

The blogging universe changes at break-neck speed. I started this blog with Blogger.com till my needs outgrew the limited Blogger engine so I moved it to a WordPress blogging platform.
In the beginning of my WordPress blogging days, I wanted to try out all the different plugins to enhance my blog. I was tempted to add all these cute little buttons to “add my feed to Yahoo, MSN, Google” etc but I didn’t understand how it could help me increase my web site traffic. During my blogger.com days, I even put up a lot of “badges” of the blog directories I belonged to.
As you can see in my blog, there isn’t any “Add feed” or “blog directory badges” anymore. What I have right now is simply 2 links at the footer to my blog rss feed and my forum rss feed. I removed all of them because they are rather ugly, confusing, take up a lot of space, and because I now have FeedBurner to replace them.
Introducing FeedBurner…
FeedBurner isn’t new at all. I ignored it for a long time because I didn’t quite understand how it could benefit me. I used to think “Why do I need FeedBurner …
