My Blog’s Social Networking Upgrades

Tuesday, 4th November 2008

I just joined FriendFeed to find out what the fuss was all about. It seems like FriendFeed combines all the things you do on a lot of social networking sites and compiles them at one central hub. I can’t make much sense of it at the moment because it seems like a bloody mess!

I added 2 new sections to my sidebar. Check out the new “Connect with Vincent” section which has a very new picture of me with a text bubble with my latest status from Twitter. I synchronize all my social networking status messages with Ping.fm. My latest Twitter status message is imported via the Twitter for WordPress plugin. I tested quite a few Twitter plugins for WordPress and this was the one I found to actually work without a lof of fuss.

The “Recent Readers” section is just an updated version of my old “Blog Readers” section. I used the Tabber tab script to display MyBlogLog and Blog Catalog’s list of readers without taking too much space.

I made all these upgrades to keep up to date with the latest on internet marketing and blogging. I have left this blog to rot for way too long and I feel now is the time to restart my blog by posting lots of quality content.
