Flashes Of Brilliance…

Monday, 25th April 2005

I’ve had flashes of brilliance with my PPC affiliate income. My best day was USD $200 in sales and on an outstanding day for me would be USD $100. On average, I receive USD $50 in sales per day. The truth is its been a great challenge for me to repeat the "USD $100 - $200 days" on a consistent basis.

Flashes of brilliance just doesn’t cut it. I learn that from Mike Litman’s Greatness Held Hostage CDs. Mike says "You’re either consistent or you’re non-existent!". Now I am "stuck" in this plateau of $50 per day. I need to find a way to move to the next level. Sometimes it does get very depressing to create campaign after campaign hoping that I will find something that will sell like hotcakes.

I am sure I will get past this like how I progressed from losing USD $100 + to making a profit of USD $300 to $1000 ++ today.

Man, do I understand your struggle.

If you’re stuck at the $50 a day limit, promote something else that will put you at a $50 a day limit. That brings you up to $100 a day.

If you’ve got one thing at the $50 limit, that’s pretty good on average. A lot of “guru” types will tell you different. They will tell you how they are making $1000’s per day. Maybe they are telling you the truth, but on average, that doesn’t happen. Just get one thing to $50 a day, and start something else that will bring you $50 a day.

Heck, I’ve got SEVERAL sites, and right now 5 of those several only make $10 each a day. Those 5 combined though make me $50 a day.

BTW… Great job on your blog. Nice to see other “human” marketers having blogs.

I understand, too, VR, you’re so much where I am. As to your comment, Liz, I appreciate that as well. My problem is that I have not been able to find anything with truly consistent sales. I have 3-4 products (CB and other) that sell and make a profit, but NONE are consistent daily sellers. One e-book may sell 3-5/wk. I still make a profit, but nothing daily consistent. Another non-clickbank product has sold 8-10/mo the last couple of months, but, again, not daily. I’ve had several CB products that sell well and then go south fast.

I am paying more attention to tracking and more willing to let go if something stops selling. But what I wouldn’t give to have a consistent profit of $100/day.

Great exchange of information, though. You listen to some people making good money daily and you wonder, “why can’t I do that?” Glad I’m not the only one.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the posts… Gotta do something different to improve my sales. I just found out the slump in sales for yesterday was caused because I screwed up my own database and a lot of my links got redirected to my home page! Stupid mistake…

Cheers,

Vincent

Hi folks!

Sure is to see that I’m not the only one struggling with the affiliate game although, like everyone else, I’ll be much more excited when I’m past this point.

Vincent, you’re journey has been amazing! I’ve been reading your blog almost since the beginning and you’ve been very helpful as far as motivating me to keep at it.

You’ve gone from losing money to making $1000 (USD) per month. That’s fantastic. I wish that I was doing as well. But the answer for all of us is to keep plugging away at it.

You’ve made major progress. Be aware of that and be excited about it (IMHO).

Can you share anything about how you progressed from the previous plateau of 1-2 profitable campaigns to where you’re at now?

Hi John,

I am still with my 2 main profitable affiliate programs and over 5 “under achievers” as I like to call them. Sometimes they sell, sometimes they don’t. Overall the “under achievers” are still profitable.

This month my sales have not improved. In fact I have taken a few steps backwards!

Cheers,

Vincent
